Theda Schwing Joins OhioLINK as Continuing Resources and Database Management Librarian

Theda Schwing will serve as the Continuing Resources and Database Management Librarian for OhioLINK. Theda's first day with OhioLINK was Monday, December 16.

The Continuing Resources and Database Management position is new for OhioLINK. Theda will work closely with personnel from OhioLINK member institutions in planning, implementing, and managing continuing resources and metadata for OhioLINK content. She will also serve as OhioLINK’s coordinator for all metadata loaded and maintained centrally. Additionally, her portfolio will include responsibility for management of the OhioLINK EDS implementation.

Theda earned her bachelors in integrated mathematics education from Miami University and her masters in library science from Kent State University. Most recently she was the Technical Services Librarian at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. In...

OhioLINK Welcomes Its 91st Member - Lake Erie College

OhioLINK welcomes the addition of another new member: Lake Erie College. This new addition brings the total number of OhioLINK member institutions to 91, including 16 public/research universities, 23 community/technical colleges, 51 private colleges and the State Library of Ohio.

One of the oldest institutions for higher learning in the Western Reserve, Lake Erie College (LEC) was founded in 1856. The James F. Lincoln Library features an innovative, award-winning design by Victor Christ-Janer. This facility houses the library's book and media collections, the Educational Media Center, the Law Collection and the College Archives. They plan to implement their Innovative system in the first quarter of 2014. LEC’s library director is Christopher Bennett.

Amy Pawlowski joins OhioLINK as Deputy Director and E-Resources Licensing Coordinator

Amy Pawlowski will serve as deputy director and e-resources licensing coordinator for OhioLINK. Gwen Evans, executive director of OhioLINK, made the appointment today, announcing that Pawlowski will join the staff beginning Nov. 4.

“The deputy director and e-resources licensing coordinator post fills a vital function at OhioLINK,” said Evans, who has led the consortium now for a year. “Today, we don’t just deliver books across the state. Although OhioLINK still serves a key resource-sharing function, the vast majority of our collective budget is used to provide access to high-quality electronic resources. Amy Pawlowski has a wealth of experience working with e-resources, and I look forward to her joining our team.”
