End of Life Information
Last Updated: July 9, 2024
Why is the EAD FACTORy ending?
The EAD FACTORy consisted of a Finding Aid Creation Tool (maintained by Kent State) and a Finding Aid Repository (maintained by OhioLINK.) After investigating alternatives, OhioLINK and Kent State University made the difficult decision to stop supporting the tools in September 2023.
The Finding Aid Creation Tool was taken offline on June 30, 2024.
The Finding Aid Repository became a "static repository" on July 1, 2024.
What is the "static OhioLINK Finding Aid Repository"?
The "static OhioLINK Finding Aid Repository" is a read-only repository that contains finding aids for those institutions that "opted in" to it. OhioLINK is maintaining it as is until June 2029.
No new finding aids or edits to existing finding aids will be made after July 1, 2024
The static repository will be online from July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2029.
