Yolanda Cooper

Vice Provost and Lindseth Family University Librarian, Case Western Reserve University

Yolanda Cooper is Case Western Reserve University’s vice provost and Lindseth Family University Librarian, where she manages an operating budget of nearly $8 million, a library staff of approximately 60, and more than $3.3 million print and electronic resource materials.

She joined Case Western in 2022, having previously served as dean and university librarian at Emory University. In her role as vice provost and Lindseth Family University Librarian, Cooper manages the Kelvin Smith Library, a dynamic, technology-rich, highly collaborative organization with resources, services, tools, and expertise to advance the success of students, faculty, and staff at Case Western Reserve University and beyond.

Cooper earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Indiana University, where she also served as an assistant dean. She has more than two decades of experience in leadership positions at higher education institutions, including at the University of Miami, the University of Virginia, and Indiana University .

She is a member of the Grolier Club (America’s oldest and largest society for bibliophiles), the Society of American Archivists, and the American Library Association.
