Say hello at ALAO, Nov 8

If you are attending the ALAO Annual Conference on November 8, please stop by OhioLINK’s table in the exhibitors’ room. Amy and Theda will be there for an “Ask Us Anything” opportunity, and we’d love to see the latest OhioLINK pet photos on the “Migration Therapy Pet” page.

OhioLINK office closed November 11, 28, 29

The OhioLINK central office will be closed Monday November 11 for Veterans Day and November 28 & 29 for Thanksgiving. If you need to report an emergency outage during this time, please contact the OARnet 24/7 Service Desk at 1-800-627-6420 and identify your report as an OhioLINK issue and provide them with the name of your institution and your contact information. For all other questions and non-emergency issues, please email OhioLINK Support or complete the support form on our site.

Policy team positions open for members from Independent institutions

OhioLINK’s standing policy teams identify issues, discuss changes or solutions, and propose membership‐wide commitments, policies, and procedures to the Library Advisory Council. In general, the teams deal with decisions that require financial commitments or other membership‐wide agreements to ensure that OhioLINK functions as a cooperative venture. The Independent libraries policy team representatives ensure that the group’s perspectives and concerns are reflected in policies and decisions.

There is one open position for an Independent library representative for each of the policy teams: Cooperative Information Resources Management Policy Team (CIRM); Database Improvement and Discoverability Policy Team (DIAD); Intercampus Services Committee Policy Team (ICS); and User Experience Policy Team (UX). These are 3-year terms, from January 2025 – December 2027. If you would like more information about the responsibilities of policy team members, or if you are interested in serving, contact Alyssa Darden and Dee Peters by November 25.

Systems and Platforms

The Electronic Journal Center (EJC) will be unavailable for up to 45 minutes on Wednesday, November 6 between 7:30am and 8:30am for the Apex update.
