DIAD Policy Team meeting, Aug 5
The Database Improvement and Discoverability (DIAD) Policy Team will meet on Monday August 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. via Webex. DIAD focuses on metadata as it relates to integration between shared systems and local systems, authority work, database integrity, and the impact of displays and searching of metadata on end users in shared or integrated systems. Summit: Illuminating the Luminaries Program, Aug 8
Our last 2024 Summit session will be Illuminating the OhioLINK Luminaries Program, August 8, 2-3PM. Register here. Join Luminaries mentors Mira Scarnecchia of Columbus State Community College, Ione Damasco of University of Dayton, and Ken Irwin of Miami University to hear insights into the OhioLINK Luminaries program. OhioLINK co-developing resource sharing technology
OhioLINK will be co-developing the next-generation, peer-to-peer resource-sharing tool with Clarivate. To be implemented after the Alma migration is complete in mid-year 2025, the new technology will facilitate a quicker connection between OhioLINK and SearchOhio and will make finding and borrowing materials more user friendly. A Resource Sharing Advisory Board comprised of Ex Libris, OhioLINK, SearchOhio, and OhioLINK and SearchOhio Library Directors will offer guidance and feedback during the development process. We’ll keep OhioLINK members updated as work progresses.

OH-TECH at the Ohio State Fair, July 24-Aug 4
OhioLINK will be at the State Fair again with the Ohio Department of Higher Education and our OH-TECH “sibs,” OARnet, and Ohio Supercomputer Center. New this year, several OhioLINK member institutions will join us in ODHE’s booth each day and visitors can take a virtual campus tour of many Ohio institutions using OSC’s VR headsets! If you’d like to visit on the day your institution will be there, contact Ann Rogers for the schedule. Find us in the (air-conditioned) Lausche Building just off the Cardinal Gate.
