Elizabeth Kiscaden

Elizabeth Kiscaden, MLIS, AHIP, was named dean and university librarian of the University of Cincinnati Libraries in 2023. Prior to this role, Kiscaden served as university librarian and assistant vice provost of library services at Creighton University where she modernized legacy library systems and infrastructure, implemented a comprehensive research information management system, established a new climate-controlled archival storage space, and linked the campus innovation/design lab with the libraries. Kiscaden has also held positions at the University of Iowa as the head of library services at Hardin Library for the Health Sciences, associate director of the Greater Midwest Regional Office of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, and Library Director at Waldorf College.

Kiscaden has extensive experience administering large grants and library services to support academic programs, faculty teaching, and student learning. Her research focuses largely on consumer health information and health sciences librarianship. She received an undergraduate degree in music performance from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, holds a master’s degree in library and information sciences from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and earned a master’s degree in business administration from Creighton University.
