Marion Technical College is working to advocate for Open Educational Resources across campus. Regular communications are occurring with faculty members regarding our efforts and we have begun sharing which courses are now participating in OER with our students via our website.
Affordability Initiatives
• We are curating alternative textbooks for some of our most popular classes – both with our general population and our College Credit Plus students.
• MTC is partnering with other institutions in identifying and implementing primarily free resources which will be available through OhioLINK through the Ohio Open Ed Collaborative. All of these resources are peer-reviewed. This grant includes OSU, Ohio Dominican and North Central State College as well as 14 other community and technical colleges.
• In addition, we are preparing to launch our first OER degree program in psychology in Fall 2019.
